ONCE UPON A FAMILY
The film director searches for Gorčin, the protagonist of his film, with the help of his friend Dragan. Their journey takes them to Gorčin’s ancestral village, where they get lost in isolated hamlets, transforming the quest into an allegorical journey into the unknown.

About the author:
Sead Šabotić, director and screenwriter, was born in Nikšić, Montenegro. He enrolled in and completed studies in Film and TV Directing at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Montenegro, where he also completed his specialist postgraduate studies specializing in Documentary Film. After finishing his specialist studies, he enrolled in and completed his master’s academic studies at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade. He is a doctoral candidate at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad. He is an alumnus of the EX-Oriente film workshop, the Talents Sarajevo program, the Talents Tehran program within the Fajr IFF, and the Beldocs Academy program. He has directed several short documentary and feature films, as well as the feature-length documentaries “Twins Woven from Dreams” and “Once Upon a Family”. These films have been shown worldwide at film festivals and film showcases, where they have also won awards. He currently works at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts as a Teaching associate. He was the selector for the Documentary Film Competition Program at the Filmski festival Herceg Novi – Montenegro film festival in 2022 and 2023. He is part of the selection team for the 71st Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival – Martovski Festival.
