LIRA VEGA
The group “Lira Vega” was created in 1998 as part of the alternative theater troupe “Pozorište Šešira”.
After two performances and a series of concerts under this name, in 2002 the band separated from the troupe and changed its name to “Lira Vega”.
Originally a classic rock line-up (Dejan Utvar on drums, Nemanja Aćimović on bass guitar, Vladimir Đprđević on guitar and Zoja Borovčanin vocalist), the group recorded their first album “Lira Vega” and released it in 2004 under the publishing house PGP RTS. Already on their next album, “Sreća i ljubav” (Beopolis, 2008), the group presents itself as a trio (Dejan Utvar leaves the band) and begins experimenting with synthesizers and rhythm machines. The third album “Duhovi” (Lampshade Media) was presented to the audience in 2015, and the group now consists of Zoja Borovčanin and Vladimir Đorđević. The album “Duhovi” represents a turn towards the use of electronic instruments (Roland TR-808, Juno 60), but the recognizable guitar and vocals are still the backbone of the sound. 11 music videos were released for this album, meaning all songs from the album have their own videos.
The new album “Posledice rada” is released by the same duo and it consists of two parts – the first part, “Posledice rada I” was released on November 29, 2022, under the publishing house “Pop Depression”. The band also released two videos for songs from their new album, “Velika žena” and “Hodam”.
The band “Lira Vega” has many years of experience – having many concerts in Serbia, but also in the wider region (Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Kosovo, Poland, Germany, Austria) is what made the band a true concert attraction. The band has several national and regional awards – Beovision (best rock group), Davorin (best regional collaboration, with the group “Let 3”), B92 (single of the year), MTS (best music video), Popbox (best live performance).
“Lira Vega” also recorded the documentary film “Duhovi iz prošlosti”, which premiered on January 16th, 2019, in KC Grad. The film is an audio-visual recording of the concert that took place on January 16, 2016. in KC Grad, where the group promoted their new album “Duhovi” in an original way. Band members decided to hand the performance of the entire album over to selected guests. All invitees responded and shared their extraordinary enthusiasm and energy with the audience, giving the songs from the album a new dimension.
