After 45 years of single-party communist rule in Serbia, political parties gained legal status in 1990, and the first multiparty elections in Serbian history were held. Four ex-presidential candidates, today’s misfits, bring back memories of the elections and relive that crucial event, not realizing that they played only supporting roles.
Luka Papić studied film directing at the Academy of Arts HFBK in Hamburg, where he completed his master’s studies, class of Prof. Angela Shanelek 2016. During his studies, he was awarded the K.H. Dietze scholarship, as well as Freundeskreis project support. As a prize for the best final thesis of the 2016 generation, he won the Nachvuchs scholarship for further scientific and artistic development in Germany. His docu-fiction “Without”, awarded at the Visions du Reel festival in Nyon, received the jury award for the best film in the medium-length competition, the Grand Prix at the Beldocs festival in Belgrade and special recognitions at the Belgrade March Festival and Underhill in Podgorica.
